Why?

A few years ago we were homeless ourselves, the only certainty we held was we didn’t want a life begging; we wanted the dignity of work, to earn a living, and rely on success, rather than state benefits for survival. We wanted to create something that people would really want to buy to raise money, rather than offer something people felt just obliged to pick up.

Instead of appealing for donations of unwanted items, we asked local people to give us something that would cost them nothing, a simple pun, or a clever play on words. The response was phenomenal; over six hundred and fifty puns were suggested and we now have created three amazing books of puns.

The sales of these amusing books have snowballed from our tiny shop, meaning we are now able to offer employment to other homeless people. We want to build on our success and grow the enterprise to help people out of poverty all across the country by providing meaningful employment opportunities for people in need, creating these amazingly funny books.

We think the Big Issue was a great concept thirty years ago. Sadly, now, it just encourages people to stand on street corners and beg.

Now it is the time to offer a proper solution to Britain’s homeless.

We offer proper employment, producing, printing and packing books where individuals can earn a living wage with dignity and regain their self respect. We try to help people rebuild their lives.

All the idea needs to succeed is for you to enjoy the humour and buy one of these books please.
